Put simply, the soft chip is cheaper, does not requie profesional installation and you could chip your Wii in less than 20 minutes form now

I have been using the soft chip for a few months now, and am more than happy with it. The automated setup process is a breeze, and if you struggle video instructions are provided as well. You can also uninstall the soft chip if your Nintendo Wii became faulty and needed to be repaired under warranty.
